JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday welcomed the verdict of Supreme Court on Delimitation carried out by Election Commission of India in Jammu and Kashmir UT.
BJP National General Secretary and Incharge J&K UT party affairs, Tarun Chug in his statement said that Election Commission, which is an unbiased and independent institution, has completed the task most honestly and in a scientific manner, without any discrimination which has been adjudged as correct by the Supreme Court also.
He said that the whole world knows that the Government has taken along all the classes and communities of the country in compliance with its polity of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabhka vikas’
The J&K opposition parties leaders, including National Conference led by Farooq Abdullah and People Democratic Party led by Mehbooba Muft,i before commenting upon the issue, should tell which of the Article, rule or norm has been violated while conducting the delimitation.
The critics should not play politics on Jammu and Kashmir UT. He said that the parties headed by Abdullah and Mufti’s during the past 70 years had been dishonouring and violating the provisions of the Constitution. “The conspiracy of Loot-Khasoot will no more be allowed because we have the agenda of progress”, he added. The BJP which had always been working without any discrimination, had the Muslim President Abdul Kalam, and then Ram Nath Kovind belonging to reserve category and now a tribal woman Droupadi Murmu, Tarun Chugh observed.
