JAMMU: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) jammu, Chandan Kohli to declare open the three-day Senior Volleyball Championship for Men & Women being organised by Volleyball Association of J&K under the aegis of J&K Sports Council at MA Stadium, here from tomorrow.
The Championship would be an eye opener for volleyball lovers of the Union Territory of J&K to witness latest techniques/ talents of volleyball players who excelled well in recently held 48th National Junior Volleyball Championship in boys section by securing third position at All India Level Competition for the first time.
During the championship various aspects of Khelo India, My Youth-My Pride, Drug-de-Addiction etc. would be focused among the youth.
According to Kuldip Magotra, Organizing Secretary of the Championship, 31 teams (Men & Women) have reported so far.
He further disclosed that free boarding / lodging facilities for all participating teams have been provided.
The matches will be played league cum knockout basis and daily 25-30 matches will be played upto late night for which flood-lit arrangements have been made.
