JAMMU: J&K Veterans Cricket Association (JKVCA) XI won a cliff hanger by defeating Combine Cricket Club by six wickets on the last ball of the match being played at MA Stadium Jammu.
Amit Sharma, captain of Combine Cricket Club, won the toss and elected to bat first but wickets kept on tumbling for CCC as JKVCA XI bowlers bowled on testing line as Vivek Suri Captain of JKVCA XI rotated the bowlers wisely.
Rajesh (40) and Ravi (22) steadied the innings for CCC and took the total to 136 for loosing 7 wickets. For J&K Veterans Cricket Association XI Ashish Singh and Sachin Jamwal took 3 wickets and Rajesh Raina chipped in with 1 wicket.
Chasing a target, JKVCA XI batsmen Ashwani Jandyal and Viraj gave a solid start of 34 runs in 3.5 overs before Ashwani was out on 13 runs. Viraj was ably supported by Abhishek and they both played sensibly and shared 65 runs partnership for second wicket. Abhishek was out for 20 runs. But Ashish (15) & Rajesh Dutt ( 18*) held their nerves & JKVCA XI chased the target on the last ball of the Match & won the match by 6 wickets. For CCC Abhinav took 2 wickets whereas Rajesh, Bhanu and Asrar took one wicket each.
