Scientists discover ‘strange structures’ in Milky Way

The scientists have spotted hundreds of horizontal ‘filaments’ (slender, elongated bodies of luminous gas), each measuring 5 to 10 light-years in length, radiating from the supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy. This discovery could provide more insights into the black hole’s spin and accretion disk orientation, furthering our understanding of the galaxy’s nucleus.
