The Supreme Court of India has announced that it will develop standard guidelines to prevent unnecessary summonses to bureaucrats and discourage judges from criticizing officers who appear in court without wearing jackets. However, the court refused to accept certain parts of the draft Standard Operating Procedures submitted by the government, as they appeared to be advisory in nature.
