Two children rescued from dangling cable car in Pakistan

A new unit of the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) has been dispatched to rescue five schoolchildren and one teacher who are stranded in a cable car in the Allai tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Battagram region. Multiple attempts have been made using helicopters, but the rescue operation has been hampered by turbulent winds. The rescue teams are considering alternative methods, such as using slings or nets, to safely extract the stranded individuals. The Pakistani government has instructed all relevant authorities to utilize all available resources for the rescue operation and ensure the safety of similar chairlifts in the region.
