The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Rajnath Singh, approved capital acquisition proposals worth Rs 84,560 crore to enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces and the Indian Coast Guard. Amendments to the Defence Acquisition Procedure, 2020 were also approved. Additionally, a proposal to buy nine maritime surveillance aircraft and six maritime patrol aircraft worth Rs 29,000 crore was approved.
