The Supreme Court has rejected a plea for a CBI or STI investigation into the Sandeshkhali sexual violence case. Justice BV Nagarathna has directed the petitioner to approach the Calcutta high court, stating that the Sandeshkhali case cannot be compared to the Manipur ethnic violence. The PIL sought compensation for the victims and action against the West Bengal Police officials for their alleged negligence.
