JAMMU, Nov 30: Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA of Ramgarh in Samba district, met with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today to discuss key issues affecting the region.
As per a statement, Dr Manyal presented several proposals aimed at enhancing youth engagement, improving infrastructure, and addressing long-standing land-related concerns.
His requests included the establishment of a Sports Council Hockey Turf in Village Shama Chak, resolution of land ownership issues for displaced persons from PoJK (Chhamb), opening of SDM and DSP offices for better administrative and security management, and creation of skill development centers to empower local youth.
He emphasized that these initiatives are crucial for the region’s development and the improvement of local residents’ livelihoods.
Meanwhile, Surjit Singh Slathia, Member of Legislative Assembly from Samba also called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, today.
Tariq Keen, senior BJP leader from Inderwal also called on Lieutenant Governor today.
In a separate meeting, a delegation from Sanskrit Bharati Jammu and Kashmir, led by Narendra Kumar, urged the Lieutenant Governor to prioritize the inclusion of Sanskrit in the three-language formula for schools, which has been pending for some time.
They also raised concerns about the absence of Sanskrit and Hindi posts in the recently advertised 575 lecturer positions.
Kumar pushed for the immediate implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the Union Territory, pointing out that the committee formed in 2023 to promote Sanskrit and Hindi had already submitted its report.
The Lieutenant Governor assured that Sanskrit would be included in the three-language formula and directed the School Education Department to fill the vacant posts.
A delegation of Tejas Ek Pahal Foundation also called on the Lieutenant Governor.
