UDHAMPUR, Apr 5: Locals of Battal Ballian today protested for repair of the SICOP boundary wall and throwing open public park of Industrial Area Battal Ballian Udhampur as well as public toilet of the Industrial area.
They claimed that due to locked toilets, people were using deserted fields and open areas to ease themselves thereby giving a setback to PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
A local resident, Fateh Singh said that their agricultural land is adjoining the Battal Ballian Industrial area and due to damage caused to the SICOP boundary wall, the cattle used to enter the agricultural land and damage the crop.
SICOP authorities are required to do needful in the matter and construct the boundary wall on their sides to avoid any loss/damage to agricultural land in future, he added.
People also informed that the SICOP authorities have constructed public toilets for the convenience since long but the same remain locked.
