JAMMU, Apr 18: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a solemn and inspiring event – the Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Samman Programme at Akhnoor to honour the invaluable contributions of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar to the nation. Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The programme was attended by prominent party leaders, social activists and local community members, who paid rich tribute to Dr. Ambedkar. MP Jugal Kishore Sharma spoke about Dr. Ambedkar’s life, ideology, and his transformative role in shaping the Indian Constitution. He highlighted his relentless fight for the dignity and rights of marginalized communities.
He emphasized that only the Bharatiya Janata Party has genuinely acknowledged Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions. Through the Panch Teerth initiative, the BJP has preserved places linked to Dr. Ambedkar’s life, including his birthplace, education site and place of demise. He added that the Bharat Ratna awarded posthumously to Dr. Ambedkar during a BJP-supported Government. Sharma also criticized the Congress party, accusing them of sidelining Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy.
Former Minister Bali Bhagat and MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat narrated Dr. Ambedkar’s inspiring journey, highlighting his commitment to equality, justice, and empowerment.
Also present were Rajeev Sharma (Former MLA), District President BJP Kuldeep Sharma, VC DDC Suraj Singh, DDC Bhushan Bral, former VC Kissan Board Daljeet Singh Chib, Jagdish Bhagat, Manmohan Singh, Brijeshwar Rana, Ex-BDC Sushma, Sonia Verma, Anu Manhas, and Mandal Presidents Gourav, Neeraj, Gulshan, Shamsher, Bodh Raj Ashok, along with other senior BJP leaders.
