POONCH, Apr 24: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, the police foiled a bovines smuggling attempt in Surankote area and arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued five cattle.
Official sources said that a police team headed by Incharge PP Behramgala successfully foiled bovine smuggling attempt near Police check post Chandimarh, arrested two smugglers and rescued five bovines which were being smuggled on foot towards Kashmir.
The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Mohd Bashir, son of Jamal Din, and Nissar Ahmed, both residents of Bhangai, Shahdra Sharief, in Thannamandi tehsil of district Rajouri.
A case FIR No. 52/2025 u/s 223 BNS has been registered at Police Station Surankote against them and investigation initiated.
