REASI, Apr 26: Nine vehicles were seized and 29 others challaned for violation various traffic rules and other offences in Reasi district.
Official sources said that acting on the directions of Transport Commissioner J&K, the Enforcement Team under the supervision of ARTO, Reasi Neeraj Sharma, MVI Tushaar Anthal, SMVI Nikhil Sharma and MVTAs today laid an early morning naka at Sulla and thereafter at various locations of Arnas, Narloo, Dharmari and Mahore-Bagga. The special focus of drive is on overloading, dangerous driving, goods on roof top etc. on Tempos.
During the drive, more than 150 vehicles were checked for various offences under MV Act and Rules, out of which 29 vehicles were e-challaned and 9 vehicles seized for various violations. Alternate vehicle arrangement was ensured for the passengers of all seized vehicles. The drivers were also warned not to overload vehicle and use mobile phone while driving. A fine amounting to Rs 113900 has been imposed on the violators. Four driving licenses were recommended for suspension. The seized vehicles included five Tempo Travelers and a truck.
