House gutted in Kotaranka

RAJOURI, Apr 26: A residential house, also housing an Atta Chaki (flour mill), was gutted in a mysterious fire incident at Kotaranka in Rajouri district on Saturday.
Officials told that house belonging to Khadim Hussain, son of Munshi Khan, who has been handicapped for the past five years after falling from a tree. He lost his house and the attached flour mill in the blaze.
Soon after the fire broke out, a police team rushed to the spot and, with the help of locals, managed to control the flames, preventing further damage to nearby structures.
Locals have appealed to the administration to provide immediate compensation to the affected family, citing their poor financial condition and Khadim Hussain’s disability.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further proceedings.
Meanwhile, former Minister and senior BJP leader Choudhary Zulifkar Ali while expressing great concern about the devastating fire incident at Kotaranka, where a residential house was lost. He urged the Fire and Emergency department to reflect on their response and work towards improvement. He requested the District Administration Rajouri/ DM Rajouri to provide adequate compensation to the affected family and consider establishing a Fire and Emergency Station at Kotaranka to prevent such tragedies in the future.
