KATHUA, Apr 26: Over a dozen Jhuggies belonging to labourers were turned into ashes in a devastating fire that broke out at Hatli Morh near here, today.
As per reports, most of the labourers were on routine work and no one was inside the Jhuggies. The nearby people noticed the smoke coming out of these Jhuggies and they informed the fire tender. Soon after the labourers came to know about fire incident they rushed towards their Jhuggies. But it was too late and fire had engulfed all Jhuggies in the area and burnt them to ashes.
All the belongings and valuable articles of inmates also perished in the fire. A fire tender reached the spot and doused the fire to spread to nearby area. The labourers said that they suffered huge loss of property and valuables. Even the food items were also burnt. They demanded immediate relief from the administration.
