JAMMU, May 8: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the only road link connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country, was closed on Thursday morning due to a mudslide triggered by rainy weather.
Officials said that vehicular traffic on the highway (NH-44) has been temporarily suspended following a mudslide at Chamba Seri in Ramban district. The road has been blocked in both directions after debris fell on the stretch, halting movement. Clearance operations are underway.
