DC Kishtwar reviews developmental works under Aspirational Blocks Programme

KISHTWAR, Sept 9: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of developmental works being undertaken under the Aspirational Blocks Programme of the Government of India.

The review primarily focused on Aspirational Block Marwah, covering key performance indicators across critical sectors such as health and nutrition, education, agriculture and allied activities, basic infrastructure, drinking water, sanitation, financial inclusion and social development. Each sector was examined in detail, with discussions revolving around ongoing progress, priority gaps and measures to accelerate implementation.

He directed all departments to submit innovative projects for funding under NITI Aayog, with special focus on health, education, nutrition, agriculture and infrastructure.

The DC emphasized the shifting of government offices from rented accommodations to government-owned buildings and instructed the concerned Heads of Departments to submit proposals in this regard.

The PO ICDS was directed to prepare estimates for all Anganwadi Centres, while the CMO was tasked with submitting estimates for the construction of sub-centres and PHCs.

The CAO was instructed to include all sown areas of Marwah and Warwan under irrigation coverage, ensuring that agricultural productivity in these remote regions is adequately supported.

To address connectivity issues, the ACD was directed to submit VSAT proposals for Marwah and Warwan, aimed at providing reliable internet access to government offices as well as the local population.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal, PO ICDS Rishi Kumar Sharma, CPO Akhil Thakur, CDPO Marwah/DIO Kishtwar Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, CHO Sajid Mustafa and other concerned officers.
