SRINAGAR, Sept 9: Press Club of Kashmir held a meeting at its Amira Kadal premises today to pay tribute to the late Shankarshan Thakur, Editor of ‘The Telegraph’.
Thakur, originally from Bihar, was a veteran journalist widely respected for his liberal outlook and independent voice, free from political or ideological bias. Throughout his distinguished career, he gained recognition for his incisive reporting and in-depth engagement with national issues.
The Club’s president and patron, M Saleem Pandit, and other members paid rich tribute to the departed journalist, who frequented Kashmir during recent times, but after attaining more responsible posts in various newspapers, his visits to Kashmir were curtailed. They conveyed their grief and condolences to the family members of the departed journalist.
