Jammu Athletes shine at Ladakh Marathon

LEH, Sept 14: Athletes from Jammu showcased exceptional endurance at the Ladakh Marathon 2025, one of the world’s toughest high-altitude races. Battling steep climbs and thin air, they completed some of the most demanding categories, leaving an inspiring mark.
In the 122 km Silk Route Ultra, Sudhir Anand made history as the first runner from J&K UT to finish the race in 19 hrs 47 minutes, followed by Naveen Sharma in 21 hrs 59 minutes. Remarkably, Sudhir also completed the Half Marathon just two days later in 2 hrs 09 minutes.
In the 72 km Khardung La Challenge, Ravinder Sharma clocked 10 hrs 41 minutes, B.K. Sharma 10 hrs 43 minutes and Rajesh Koul 11 hrs 31 minutes. B.K. Sharma also completed the Full Marathon in 5 hrs 14 minutes.
Other Full Marathon (42.2km) finishers included Manish Sharma (4 hrs 25 mins), Raghav Dogra (4 hrs 35 mins), Harmeek Singh (4 hrs 59 minutes), Satbir Singh (5 hrs 35 minutes), Praveen Raina (5 hrs 38 minutes), Ajay Sawhney (5 hrs 49 minutes) and Dr. Deepak Tickoo (6 hrs 01 minutes).
Half Marathon (21.1 Km) participants also included Surinder Pal Singh (2 hrs 23 mins) and Anil Katoch (2 hrs 48 minutes). In the 11.2 km run, Ashima finished in 1 hr 31 minutes, M. Latifi Tasir in 1 hr 32 minutes and Nazir Ahmed Dar in 1 hr 40 minutes.
