LAHDC Kargil passes Teachers Transfer, New Hostel Admission Policy

KARGIL, Sept 15: In a significant decision, the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, in a meeting today unanimously passed New Teachers Transfer Policy along with the Admission Policy for Kargil Boys’ and Girls’ Hostels in Jammu and Srinagar.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, in the presence of MP Haji Hanifa Jan, Executive Councillors, Deputy Commissioner Kargil and the Councillors of LAHDC Kargil.
The Teacher Transfer Policy for teachers, masters, headmasters and lecturers has been designed to enhance the quality of education and ensure equitable distribution of teaching staff across schools in the district.
A comprehensive presentation was given by the Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, highlighting that all suitable considerations have been incorporated into the new draft policy.
The policy will be operated through a transparent digital portal to maintain fairness and accountability. During the session, the new draft policy was deliberated in detail.
Councillors offered suggestions and after thorough discussions on both drafts prepared by the LAHDC committee and the Deputy Commissioner, significant and relevant points were merged into the final document.
The final policy was unanimously adopted, marking a big step towards improving school education in Kargil.
Similarly, the Hostel Admission Policy for students of Kargil in Jammu and Srinagar was finalized. The new policy ensures fair, transparent and merit-based hostel admissions, providing equal opportunities for deserving students of the district.
The New Teacher Transfer Policy will come into effect from the upcoming academic session.
Furthermore, the LAHDC Kargil has decided that such policies will also be implemented in other departments in phased manner, ensuring systematic reforms and transparency.
