Proclaimed Offender In Terror Case Brought Back To Jammu From Bengaluru

Jammu, Sept 16 : The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Jammu and Kashmir has traced and arrested a proclaimed offender who had been evading the law for more than two decades.
Officials said the accused, Ravi Chandran alias Ravi, was wanted in a major terror-related case registered at Police Station JIC Jammu.
They said a special Fugitive Tracking Team of CID Jammu traced him to Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Acting on precise inputs, they said, a team from CID, with the support of Bengaluru City Police, carried out a coordinated operation to arrest him.
The Karnataka Police provided crucial local assistance and helped in completing the legal and logistical formalities for his safe transfer to Jammu, officials said.
On arrival, the accused was produced before the court in Jammu and remanded to judicial custody, they said.
Officials further said the operation reflects CID’s commitment to tracking down absconders and ensuring that offenders face the law.
They added that CID will continue pursuing fugitives and terror suspects across states with the help of inter-agency cooperation and intelligence-driven operations.
