REASI, Sept 16: Member Legislative Assembly Kuldeep Raj Dubey, alongside Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik today chaired a meeting to discuss the development of Bhimgarh Fort and the utilization of funds under the District Capex Budget for its beautification and illumination.
Discussions were held on the beautification and illumination plan, proposals related to the fort recommended by the MLA and the utilization of funds within the stipulated timeframe.
Meeting started with detailed deliberations on installing decorative lighting at the Fort to enhance its visual appeal.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Power Development Department to install high-quality lights with proper maintenance provisions included in the DPR to ensure durability of the same.
The Executive Engineer was asked to prepare and submit the DPR to facilitate its onward submission to expedite the project’s execution.
Water supply arrangements at the Fort were also discussed. The Executive Engineer PHE was asked to inspect the existing water supply lines and prepare a DPR accordingly to ensure previous supply lines are also used and water reaches within the Fort premises.
“The DPR under the beautification plan must include provision for making the existing fountain functional,” he was told.
In addition, the DC instructed the PWD to prepare a DPR for restoration works and damage assessment of the Fort’s structures so that necessary repair and conservation measures can be undertaken promptly.
The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) was tasked with the fencing of the adjoining forest area, maintaining greenery and keeping the surroundings of the Fort clean.
The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) was asked to coordinate with the Department of Archaeology and Archives to chalk out a sustainable framework for the maintenance and upkeep of the Fort.
Alongside this, discussions were also held regarding the renovation and beautification of Sula Park.
The DC directed the DFO to take up the project on priority as funds are available for the Sula park.
As the meeting was informed that Baroodkhana land dispute has been resolved, the DC directed the PWD to start work by utilizing the funds already allocated.
Discussions were also held on other proposals related to the tourism sector, including beautification projects and the installation of the Indian National Flag.
The DC assured that the district administration is making consistent efforts to mobilize funds from all possible sources with the vision of transforming Reasi into a beautiful and attractive tourist attraction.
ADDC Sukhdev Singh; CPO Narinder Kumar; Executive Engineers of different Departments, Tehsildar, EO MC and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
