JAMMU, Sept 18: Department of Physical Education and Sports of PSPS Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, under the aegis of Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ), hosted the Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi (Men and Women) Tournament.
The event was inaugurated today by Prof (Dr) K S Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor of CLUJ, who emphasized the significance of indigenous Indian sports in nurturing discipline, teamwork, and competitive spirit among students. Registrar Ankur Mahajan and Dean Academic Affairs Dr Twinkle Suri also attended as guests of honour, alongside senior deans and principals of constituent colleges.
The opening match saw GGM Science College defeat MAM College in the men’s category by 23 points, while in the women’s section, the host college, GCW Gandhi Nagar, outplayed SPMR Commerce College with a 28-point margin.
The tournament concluded with enthusiastic participation, celebrating sportsmanship and reaffirming the role of traditional games in students’ holistic development. The event was coordinated by Prof Shrdha Anand and Kajal Premi under the guidance of Principal Dr Geetanjali Andotra.
