J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides holds programme

JAMMU, Sept 20: The J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides Headquarters, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, marked International Peace Day with a vibrant and meaningful celebration, bringing together students from schools, colleges and universities to promote values of harmony, non-violence and collective action. The event, themed “Act Now for a Peaceful World,” aimed to inspire youth to contribute actively to peace within their communities.
The programme featured inspirational talks, group discussions and cultural performances, including a skit and a dance presentation, creatively conveying the importance of peace. Students were grouped into houses to exchange ideas, reflect on the theme and collaboratively present creative expressions, which will be displayed on the organisation’s “Wall of Fame.”
The event was graced by Wing Commander MM Joshi as chief guest, organised under the leadership of Anuradha Gupta, State Chief Commissioner and Director General, Youth Services & Sports, J&K. It was efficiently coordinated by Nasreen Khan, along with Dr. Renu Nanda and supported by faculty members including Manjeet, RP Kotwal, Ashok Sharma and others.
Scouts and Guides from different schools as well as Rangers and Rovers from the University of Jammu and Govt. College of Education, actively participated. The event concluded on an inspiring note by Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, reinforcing a collective commitment to peace, tolerance, and unity.
