JAMMU, Sept 22: Mulkh Raj Ashok Kumar Jewellers, one of the leading wedding jewellery stores of Jammu and Kashmir, organized a ceremony on the first day of Navratri to honour empowered women of the Union Territory.
The event, themed “9 Days, 9 Powers, 1 Radiant You,” symbolized the divine energy of Navratri and its reflection in women achievers. The programme was managed by Moksha Abrol.
Owner directors Ankur Suri, Rahul Suri and Shivam Suri of the Suri family led the initiative, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to blending cultural heritage with contemporary aspirations. The jewellery house, known for its craftsmanship and tradition, described the event as part of its ongoing effort to celebrate both the festive spirit and women’s growing role in society.
BJP J&K vice president Rekha Mahajan, who was present on the occasion, said the initiative reflects the strength and energy that women embody. She noted that recognizing achievers during Navratri inspires younger generations to aim higher.
She further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, women in India are making historic progress in sectors ranging from education and entrepreneurship to politics and defence. Programmes like “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” and greater representation in decision-making roles, she added, have given a new dimension to women empowerment.
Rekha Mahajan also underlined that Navratri is a celebration of ‘Shakti’—the embodiment of power—and events that honour women achievers on such occasions reinforce the belief that women are central to building a strong and prosperous nation.
