JAMMU, Sept 24: Senior National Conference (NC) leader Rajesh Gupta today alleged that Jammu is reeling under fear and uncertainty, as the administration failed to check crime and ensure accountability.
In a statement issued, Gupta said, “People today are more afraid of the police than the criminals. The police, instead of protecting citizens, are often seen siding with wrongdoers. The ordinary citizens now live under constant anxiety, unsure whom to trust.”
Blaming the prevailing chaos on “dual governance,” Gupta said “The administration had shown little concern for Jammu’s problems, while the Prime Minister and Home Minister ‘watch from the sidelines’. Despite CM Omar Abdullah’s attempts to bring the system back on track, the administration blocks even basic reforms, leaving people to suffer.”
