JAMMU: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jammu & Kashmir, has filed a chargesheet in the case FIR No. 18/2014 PS VOJ (now ACB), before the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Jammu, pertaining to the illegal allotment of a plot in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. The chargesheet names Vinod Sharma, former Vice Chairman of Jammu Development Authority (JDA); his wife Mamta Sharma; Ghany Sham, then Naib Tehsildar, JDA (now retired and deceased); and Rishi Kumar, the then Patwari, JDA (now retired and deceased), as accused. The case involves the illegal allotment of Plot No. 42, Sector-1A, Trikuta Nagar, and unauthorized possession of an additional 4,300 sq. ft. of land by Mamta Sharma. An ACB official stated, “Investigations revealed that the accused, in collusion with certain JDA officials, misused their official positions to facilitate illegal allotment and encroachment. The chargesheet has been filed after meticulous inquiry, ensuring that the facts are presented before the court for due judicial scrutiny.” The official further added, “This action reinforces our commitment to uphold transparency and accountability in public office, and to act against misuse of authority in land allotments.” The Court has scheduled the next hearing in this matter on 15th December 2025.
