MENDHAR, Sept 26: Residents of Ward No. 2 and from a few adjoining areas, in Mendhar town are without water supply for the past five days, causing severe hardship during the holy Navratri.
Locals blame the Jal Shakti Department for negligence, as devotees struggle for water needed for fasting and prayers.
According to reports, the pumping station motor was burnt few days ago, but even after five days, it has not been repaired. Residents have accused the concerned engineering staff for their failure to restore supply.
Locals have appealed to the DDC Poonch and Jal Shakti Minister Javed Rana, urging him to question officials and ensure water supply is resumed immediately. They argue that such negligence during Navratri is unacceptable and demand accountability.
