JAMMU, Sept 27: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, concluded the Inter District Division Level competitions in Taekwondo (AAG Girls) and Inter School District Level Gatka competition (Under 17 & 19 years) today. The Taekwondo events were held at the Indoor Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, while the Gatka competition took place at MA Stadium, Jammu.
The Taekwondo U-19 Girls category featured exciting contests in various weight classes with the following results: Below 52 kg: Gold – Rutba Majid (District Jammu), Silver – Didha Sen (District Kishtwar), Bronze – Vanshika (District Kathua) and Taiba Anjum (District Doda)
Below 55 kg: Gold – Vaishali Sen (District Kishtwar), Silver – Saloni Devi (District Udhampur), Bronze – Kartika Sharma (District Samba). Below 59 kg: Gold – Maywish Majid (District Poonch), Silver – Reet Dutta (District Jammu), Bronze – Sunikesha Sharma (District Doda). Below 63 kg: Gold – Suhani Satyal (District Udhampur), Silver – Uzma Nazir (District Poonch).
Below 68 kg: Gold – Farzana Kouser (District Poonch), Silver – Manvi Gupta (District Jammu), Bronze – Deepika Kumari (District Samba). In the Gatka U-17 Girls category (Fair Stick), Harjas Kour (Jammu) secured 1st place, while Agampreet (WNJ School) was runner-up. In the Single Stick category, Supreet Kour (Little Rose) won gold, followed by Naupreet Kour (Little Rose) in second, Rashmet Kour third and Mani Jyoti fourth.
For Gatka U-19 Girls (Fair Stick), Sehajpreet Kour (RN Tagore) clinched 1st place, with Gureespal Kour (IDPS) securing the second position. The event was conducted with expertise by technical officials including Atul Pangotra, Varinder Singh, Nitin Singh, Mukta Gupta and others.
