JAMMU, Sept 28: Jammu athletes delivered an inspiring performance at the prestigious Tuffman Chandigarh Half Marathon, which witnessed participation from over 5,000 runners across India.
Showcasing remarkable endurance and commitment, they brought pride to the region with their achievements. Vijay Sharma led the way by winning the Gold Medal in the 40-50 age category with a stellar timing of 1:35:15, while Om Parkash Sharma earned the Silver Medal in the 60-70 age group, finishing in 1:58:54. Other notable performances came from Suneet Kumar (1:47:10), Ajay Gandotra (1:55:13), Surinder Kumar (2:05:11), Ram Kumar Raina (2:07:52), Ravinder Kaur (2:23:29) and Abhishek Sharma (2:48:19).
Shahida Liyaqat also successfully completed the half marathon, adding to the region’s proud representation. Their participation not only reflects personal dedication but also underscores the rising interest in fitness and long-distance running in Jammu.
