BATHINDA, Sept 29: In order to raise awareness on heart health and promoting wellness among the residents on World Heart Day, Max Super Speciality Hospital, organized a walkathon today.
The event was organized in collaboration with Lalit Welfare Association and witnessed active participation from over 300 individuals, making it a resounding success.
The function was kicked off by ADC Poonam Singh Bathinda and Omraj, Unit Head Max Hospital Bathinda with an energetic 5km walkathon that set the tone for the day filled with learning, fitness and fun.
Following the walkathon, participants engaged in a series of health-focused activities including a talk, quiz, zumba and bhangra sessions and a community exercise segment.
The collective spirit and enthusiasm of the participants highlighted the growing awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
The health talk was delivered by Dr Ishtiyaq Masood, Consultant, Cardiologist and Dr Dixit Goyal, Consultant, Cardiologist from Max Super Speciality Hospital, Bathinda.
The experts shared important insights on heart health, lifestyle diseases and preventive care, emphasising the significance of early diagnosis and regular medical check-ups.
Their engaging and informative session allowed attendees to interact, ask questions and gain credible information to support their health journeys.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ishtiyaq Masood said, “We are thankful for the incredible participation and support from the people of Bathinda and extend our gratitude to Lalit Welfare Association for their collaboration.” Dr Dixit Goyal, added, “Events like these are vital in bringing healthcare awareness to the public. Our goal is to educate and empower individuals to lead healthier lives.”
The health quiz kept the crowd engaged while spreading valuable knowledge in an interactive format.
The dance and exercise sessions brought a high-energy finish to the event, showing how fitness can be fun, accessible and community-driven.
