JAMMU/Srinagar, Sept 30: The Directorate of School Education Jammu has announced revised timings for Government and private schools across the division.
An order issued in this context said from October 1, schools in the Summer Zone will function between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, while from November onwards, the timings will shift to 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

However, schools falling within Jammu Municipal Corporation limits and nearby urban areas will continue with the 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule.
In the Winter Zone, schools will operate from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM starting October 1, the order said.
Meanwhile, the department has warned that strict action will be taken against institutions deviating from the order.
Meanwhile, the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir (DSEK) has also ordered a change in school timings across Kashmir, effective October 3.
As per the order, all Government and recognized private schools operating within the municipal limits of Srinagar city will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Schools outside the municipal limits of Srinagar and other areas of the Kashmir province will follow a 10:00 am to 4:00 pm schedule.
“The order/instructions shall be adhered to strictly by all the concerned institutions without any deviation,” the order read.
