JAMMU, Oct 1: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today celebrated its 25th Foundation Day, in a function held here today.
The day was celebrated marking its Silver Jubilee with a renewed commitment to providing affordable, secure and indigenous digital connectivity across India, including J&K and Ladakh UTs.
In this landmark year, BSNL rolled out 92,633 new 4G sites nationwide, including 639 Digital Bharat Nidhi-funded towers in J&K (465) and Ladakh (174) under the 4G Saturation Project.
These installations have brought more than 756 previously uncovered villages and over 3 lakh citizens into the digital mainstream.
With this achievement, India has joined the select league of five nations globally with a fully indigenous 4G stack.
The J&K Circle has returned to profit in FY 2024-25 after 12 years, registering a turnaround from a Rs 101 crore loss to a Rs 5 crore profit.
Today, BSNL J&K operates 3,817 BTS across J&K and Ladakh, supporting more than 8 lakh mobile subscribers and carrying approximately 42,000 GB of data and 6,500-7,000 Erlangs of voice traffic daily.
BSNL has also played a critical role in national projects, ensuring seamless telecom services during Operation Sindoor and providing 24×7 control rooms and satellite phone connectivity in border and strategic areas.
BSNL continues to expand its telecom infrastructure strengthening connectivity across remote and hilly regions of J&K and Ladakh.
This Silver Jubilee celebration reflects BSNL’s growth, resilience and dedication to both digital empowerment and community welfare in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh UTs.
