Srinagar, Oct 1: The election for the Executive Committee of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) is now set to be held on October 6.
In a statement issued here, the Election Commission of the KCCI said that after deliberating on the communication received from the Deputy Commissioner’s office, it has announced the elections for 2025–27.
“The rescheduled polling will take place at the Kashmir Government Arts Emporium (Near GPO), Srinagar, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM,” it said.
It further stated that the elections will be conducted under the overall supervision of the DC Srinagar and the KCCI Election Commission, with polling and counting observers drawn from various Government departments and banks.
Counting of votes will be conducted on the same day after the conclusion of polling.
It may be noted that polling for the Executive Committee elections was originally scheduled for September 22 but was deferred as per the directive of the DC Srinagar, calling for “rectifications” in the electoral roll and membership list before the elections.
The KCCI has urged all eligible voters to carry a valid KCCI Membership Identity Card, valid up to 31st March 2026, for verification at the polling station to ensure a smooth and transparent voting process.
