MIER College organizes Chess match

JAMMU, Oct 2: The Sports Unit of MIER College of Education organized an engaging Chess match for boys and girls, attracting enthusiastic participation from students of the School of Education (SOE) and the School of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSSH).
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Adit Gupta, Principal, who emphasized the importance of co-curricular activities in fostering holistic development. Dr. Nishta Rana, Head SOE and Dr. Monika Bajaj, Head SSSH, were also present, motivating the players throughout the event.
In the boys’ category, Khushal (B.A. Political Science, Semester V) secured first place, followed by Mufaid and Partyush (both Semester I). In the girls’ category, Gunjan Kumari (B.Ed. Special Education, Semester I) took first place, with Saniya and Purvi Gupta claimed second and third position.
Prof. Gupta praised the initiative, highlighting its role in promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie. The event was coordinated by Dr. C.R. Jangra under the guidance of Imran, PTI, Model Academy.
