Jammu’s Ridhiman wins Silver at CBSE National Fencing C’ship

JAMMU, Oct 3: Bringing pride to Jammu and Kashmir, Ridhiman Sharma, a 15 year old, Class 10th student of KC International School and trainee at JU Fencing Academy under NIS-qualified coach Bhisham Salathia, clinched the silver medal in the Cadet (U-17) category at the 1st CBSE National Fencing Championship 2025-26 held in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand.
Competing against 61 fencers from across the country, Ridhiman displayed outstanding skill and determination. In a nail-biting semifinal, he edged past his opponent with a close 15-14 win. He advanced to the final, where he fought valiantly but lost to a fencer from Punjab with a score of 15-11.
The Championship took place from September 30 to October 5 and Ridhiman’s achievement has been widely lauded by the school, academy and sports community. His success marks a significant milestone for fencing in J&K and inspires other young athletes in the region.
