Munich airport resumes flights after drone sightings force overnight closure

MUNICH, Oct 3: Germany’s Munich airport has resumed flight operations early today after closing overnight due to drone sightings, according to the electronic scoreboard.
Yesterday evening, the German air traffic control restricted flights at Munich airport starting at 10:18 pm local time, and then suspended all operations amid several drone incursions. No information regarding the drones’ affiliation was provided.
Flight tracking services showed the airport reopening with the first departure to the Bulgarian city of Varna at 5:50 am after the resumption of flights.
