DODA, Oct 4: In a commendable initiative under Operation Sadbhavana, the Indian Army’s 10 Rashtriya Rifles organized a Girls Archery and Shooting Competition in Doda, aimed at promoting youth empowerment, sportsmanship, and community engagement in the region.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 25 girls and 27 boys in the 10-meter Air Rifle shooting competition, providing a dynamic platform for young talents to showcase their skills.
The opening ceremony was graced by Subedar Major Chain Singh, Olympian and acclaimed shooter, whose inspiring presence motivated the participants and elevated the event’s stature. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the transformative power of sports in instilling discipline, building character, and fostering unity. He also lauded the Indian Army’s commitment to creating inclusive opportunities for youth, especially young girls in remote areas.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, also attended the event and expressed deep appreciation for the Army’s efforts. He thanked the 10 Rashtriya Rifles for their ongoing dedication to youth development and community upliftment in the region.
