Dr Anila conferred with Mahadevi Verma Award

JAMMU, Oct 4: Dr Anila Singh Charak, a renowned poetess, ‘gazalkar’ and ‘vyangyakar’ has been awarded Mahadevi Verma Smriti Samman for her collection of gazals “Rishton Ke Bheege Akhbar”.
The book was selected at all India level for exemplary gazals, style and depth of thoughts and versatility in various subjects. Other seven writers won awards for story, upanyas, bal sahitya, nibandh etc.
The programme was organized by Akhil Hindi Sahitya Sabha Amravati Pune in Pryagraj (UP). The chief guest on the occasion was Chief Justice Sudhir Narayan who is himself a senior writer and artist. The other guest was District Judge Rajkumar Verma. They together presented the awards.
After award ceremony, a grand Kavi Sammellan was organized. Dr Charak also presented her gazal which mesmerized the audience and won thunderous applause.
Dr Anila has won innumerable awards previously also at national and international level and has brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir for presenting extra-ordinary work in Hindi and English literature. She had about 17 books at her credit which comprise poetry, gazal, satire and bal sahitya.
