Train traffic normalizing in phased manner

JAMMU, Oct 4: For passengers’ convenience ahead of Diwali festival, Northern Railway will restore multiple trains from October 15 onwards thus significantly normalizing train traffic from Jammu, which was severely hit following heavy rains and floods on August 26.

According to the Railway authorities. 22 trains to and from Jammu, Udhampur and Katra are being restored from October 15 to October 22.
Decision for the restoration of these trains, which were either cancelled or short terminated since August 26, has been taken after periodic review of various sections.
These include train number 12425 (NDLS-JAT), being restored from October 15 onwards; Train number 12426 (JAT-NDLS), being restored from October 16; Train number 12751 (NED-JAT), restored from October 17; Train number 12752 (JAT-NED), restored from October 19; Train number 11077 (PUNE-JAT), restored upto destination from October 15; Train number 11078 (JAT-PUNE), restored from October 17; Train number 18101 (TATA-JAT), restored upto destination from October 15; Train number 18102 (JAT-TAT) restored from October 18; Train number 18309 (SBP-JAT) is being restored upto destination from October 16; Train number 18310 (JAT-SBP), restored from October 19; Train number 19027 (BDTS-JAT) restored from October 18; train number 19028 (JAT-BDTS), restored from October 20; Train number 19415 (SBIB-SVDK) being restored from October 19; Train number 19416 (SVDK-SBIB) being restored from October 21; Train number 20985 (KOTA-MCTM) being restored from October 15; Train number 20986 (MCTM-KOTA) restored from October 16; Train number 22941 (INDB-MCTM) being restored from October 20; Train number 22942 (MCTM-INDB) being restored from October 22; Train number 20847 (DURG-MCTM) being restored from October 15; Train number 20848 (MCTM-DURG) being restored from October 17; Train number 74909 (PTK-MCTM) and Train number 74910 (MCTM-PTK) are being restored from October 15.
With the restoration of these trains, almost 75 percent train traffic will be normalized at Jammu Railway Station.
Pertinent to mention that heavy rainfall in the region had severely affected rail services on Jammu-Pathankot section with tracks and bridges bearing the brunt of the floods. Most of the trains had to be cancelled or terminated before their destination.
Earlier, the Northern Railway had announced restoration of the operation of eight long distance trains from October 2 to October 8.
These include Jammu Tawi – Kanpur (12470), running from 02.10.2025; Jammu Tawi – Yoga Nagari Rishikesh (14606), operational from 05.10.2025; Jammu Tawi – Barauni (14692), operational from 03.10.25; Jammu – Sealdah (22318), operational from 08.10.2025; Jammu Tawi – Guwahati (15654), operational from 03.10.2025; Jammu Tawi – Gorakhpur (12588), operational from 04.10.2025; Jammu Tawi-Bhagalpur (15098), operational from 7.10.2025 and Jammu Tawi-Guwahati (15652), operational from 8.10.2025.
Divisional Railway authorities are periodically reviewing various sections and have so far resumed the operations of around 50 percent trains to and from Jammu, in a phased manner.
According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, train operations in the division are gradually being normalized as soon as the technical work on the railway track and railway bridges is getting completed.
To avoid any inconvenience, Railway authorities have advised the passengers to check the train schedules on the Northern Railway website or the relevant helpline numbers.
