JAMMU, Oct 5: Theatre group ‘Natrang’ here today staged Hindi play ‘Tauba-Tauba’, written by Rajinder Kumar Sharma and directed by Neeraj Kant.
The play opens at the home of one ‘Anokhe Lal’ who has converted it as rehearsal place as he is the director of a play scheduled to be staged within few days.
As the play proceeds it appears that no one other than the director is serious in rehearsal. The artists have turned pricy and had different excuses to skip rehearsal. At top of it, the newly appointed servant adds to the confusion as he comes up with a new problem every time.
‘Anokhe Lal’ was very much worried as nothing was going right—actors were forgetting the lines, people were coming late in rehearsal and on the top of it, tickets of the show have already been sold.
The ultimate crisis occurs when the director comes to know that the actor playing the role of father of the hero is not doing the play as he has to go out of station for some work.
Now the director decides to prepare his newly appointed servant to do the character of the father and the servant agrees but trouble erupts when real father of ‘Anokhe Lal’ arrives to whom the servant introduces himself as father of ‘Anokhe Lal’ on which both the servant and Anokhe Lal were beaten by the real father.
Actors who performed in the play were Vishal Sharma, Kananpreet Kaur, Vijay Bhat, Pawan Verma, Gauri Thakur, Mihir Gujral, Kushal Bhat and Aryan Sharma; lights were executed by Neeraj Kant; sound by Vandana Thakur; presentations by Kartik Kumar and the show was coordinated by Mohd. Yaseen.
