SUNDERBANI, Oct 5: JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma today launched the signature campaign against vote chori, as part of nationwide campaign of Congress Party for free fair, and transparent elections system, at Sunderbani today besides seeking restoration of full statehood to J&K without further delay.
Addressing workers’ meeting at Sunderbani town today, Sharma said that free,fair and transparent elections process right from voter list till results is basic right and backbone of the democracy..The recent disclosures by Congress leader and LOP Rahul Gandhi after indepth investigations has revealed large scale irregularities and illegalities right from voter list to manipulations in the elections system due to connivance of ECI and ruling BJP.
It has shaken the trust and credibility of the elections in the country and weakens the roots of democracy for which Congress party has taken pledge to fight for a clean, free,fair transparent electoral system.
Accusing BJP of betrayal of the people of J&K by not restoring the statehood even after six years and also one year after Assembly elections, senior Congress leader said that Congress party shall intensify struggle for getting back our status and rights of full statehood. He said BJP is in the habit of making false & fake promises and crushing the genuine aspirations of people to centralise and controlling the entire system.
He referred to the case of Ladakh, forcing peace loving & patriotic people to come on roads. He warned against testing the patience of the people & urged the Centre to restore statehood. He said full brigade of BJP from MPs to 28 MLAs have failed to represent the genuine aspirations of the people of J&K regarding restoration of statehood, making the them to suffer in every spheres under the dual control system in J&K.
He also questioned the delay in the relief, rehabilitation and restoration measures, even after nearly two months of devastation due to rains and floods.
Block presidents NC Sharma, Tirth Ram, Ajit Singh, Rajesh Jamwal, D N Sharma, Mohinder Singh, Ashwani Sharma, Dr Ved Sudan, Ram Lal Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Nobat Ram, Dr Parshotam, Om Parkash, Govind Sudan, Vivek Sudan (YC), Rajiv Chadha, Capt Joginder Singh and others also attended.
