JKTA organises educational conference

RAMBAN, Oct 6: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Association (JKTA) held a one-day educational conference in Ramban, bringing together teachers from across the Jammu region.
UT President of JKTA, Bhupinder Singh spoke about the association’s role in advocating for teachers’ rights and professional development.
During the conference, JKTA called for the restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS), exemption from Teachers Eligibility Test and review on it, Annual Transfer Drive for Jammu and Udhampur, DPC from Teachers to Masters, mutual transfers of RRETs which has been kept under abeyance and implementing a clear transfer policy for Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers (RRETs) to ensure fair, transparent, and timely transfers.
Beyond administrative matters, the conference highlighted JKTA’s five-point agenda, which guides its efforts to improve education and support teachers.
The conference also showcased the human side of teaching. Teachers shared inspiring stories from remote schools, highlighting the challenges and rewards of working with students in diverse communities. Discussions emphasized the importance of inclusive education, support for multilingual classrooms, and preserving cultural heritage through local languages.

On the occasion, a number of Teachers joined the JKTA and extended their faith and cooperation to its leader. Farooq Ahmed Rounyal was appointed as District President for Ramban. Others who spoke and coordinated the success of the conference include Akhter Abbas Naik, Mushtaq Malik, Ishaq Rashid Malik, Tirth Singh Bakwal, Surjeet Katoch, Bihari Lal Sharma, Hafiz ur Farooq Runyal, Saidullah Katoch, Sadaket Malik, Sharief Ahmed, Anchal Singh, Suraj Parkash Puri, Jeevan Pahari, Jagdish Khajuria, Shabir Ahmed, Wassim ul Hassan, Rafiq Ahmed Sohil, Shakeel Sohil, Rakesh Kumar, Kuldeep Singh and others.
