JAMMU, Oct 8: The Inter-Division UT Level Taekwondo competition for All Age Groups (AAG) boys and girls concluded today at the Sports Training Centre, Base Camp Nagrota. Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, the event witnessed participation of around 120 girls showcasing their talent and determination to secure selection for the national-level championship.
Technical conduct was ensured by departmental experts Atul Pangotra, Mukta Gupta, Barinder Singh, Fiaz Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, Farooq Ahmed, Nitin Singh, Neelan Masroor and others.
In the U-14 Girls category, gold medals were secured by Kavya Sulatia (20kg), Aarti Devi (22kg), Babli Devi (24kg), Anjali Devi (26kg), Nazia (29kg), Sana Choudhary (32kg), Bhumika Thakur (35kg), Mehrin Din Riaz (38kg) and Umaiza Sarferaz (+38kg), all from Jammu. Silver medals went to Aamina Mustafa (22kg), Zaiya Hussain (24kg), Zainab Jan (26kg), Sadaf Gul (29kg), Huboor Shah (32kg), Jannat Hafiz (35kg), Mantasha Zainab (38kg) and Aisha Bint Amir (+38kg) from Kashmir.
In the U-17 Girls category, Jammu’s gold medallists included Amina Kousar (32kg), Insha Wani (35kg), Himamshi Raina (44kg), Airafatima (49kg), Sukriti Sharma (52kg), Soha Sehar Tak (63kg), Ekta Kapoor (68kg), and Gul Feriqa (+68kg). Kashmir’s gold medallists were Zeenat Ali (38kg), Aleen Hassan (42kg), Andleeb Latief (55kg) and Baiza Tubeem (59kg). Silver medals went to Shah Hafsa (35kg), Naya Thakur (38kg), Nihavika Saqoch (42kg), Jameela Kousar (44kg), Rutba Zehra (49kg), Sheikh Harira (52kg), Moiza Badool (55kg), Kasmeen Jan (63kg), Farhed Firdous (68kg) and Nazrana Rashid (+68kg).
