Srinagar, Oct 9: Continuing its intensified crackdown on the separatist-terror ecosystem, Jammu and Kashmir Police today carried out a search operation at the residence of an individual allegedly associated with the proscribed organisation Jamaat-e-Islami in the Sopore sub-district of north Kashmir.
The operation was conducted at the residence of Ghulam Hassan Lone, a resident of Zaloora, Sopore, in connection with a case registered in 2025 under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Police confirmed that the search was conducted following a valid search warrant issued by the competent Court of Law.
“During the search, incriminating material linked to the proscribed organization was recovered and seized for further investigation. The proceedings were conducted in the presence of Magistrates and independent witnesses, ensuring full legal compliance and procedural transparency,” police said.
Officials stated that this action is part of Sopore Police’s ongoing investigation into the unlawful activities of banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami and reflects the department’s continued efforts to dismantle the terror–separatist network operating in the region.
