Inter-School Painting Competition held

JAMMU, Oct 11: The J&K Private Schools Association (JKPSA), in collaboration with Kala Kendra Jammu, here today organized an Inter-School Painting Competition in which a total of 370 students from 45 schools participated.
Two themes for the competition were ‘Save Environment’ and ‘Women Empowerment.’
The event was graced by Gurdev Saraji, Joint Director, as chief guest and Ajeet Sharma, Chief Education Officer, Jammu, as guest of honour.
Other distinguished guests included Dr. Javid Rahi, Secretary, Kala Kendra; Dr. Kasturi Lal Gupta, Chairman, Siyaana Nagrik Club for Dogri Promotion and G.N Tantray.
The special guests were Deepak Handa and Gaurav Charak.
The jury panel comprised distinguished artists Ajay Kumar Sood and Gayatri Kotwal along with Priya Gupta, Best Artist, IIM.
In Women Empowerment category, Ojasvi from Shiksha Niketan HSS and Archana from Bharatiya Shiksha Kendra, Domana, won 1st prize followed by Keshav from Co-operative Public School, Janipur, who secured 2nd prize and Aryan from Dewan Devi School, Rajpura, along with Harshdeep from Shiksha Niketan HSS, who also shared the 2nd prize.
The 3rd prizes were awarded to Jannat from Heaven Kingdom, Janipur, Maasi from New Bal Shiksha Kendra and Vaishnavi from KNIT Green Model Academy.
In Save Environment (Group B) category, the 1st prize was shared by Adarsh from J&K Police Public School and Khushi from S.D Tara Puri School, Gandhi Nagar. The 2nd prize was jointly won by Sonali from Devine Light St. Mary’s Convent School, Kanav from Vimal Vidyalaya, Akalpur and Ishita from Shakti Shiksha Kendra HSS. The 3rd prize went to Ashish and Meera from KNIT Green Model Academy and Atiba from Indira Memorial HSS, Galwadey.
The competition was organized under the guidance of Lal Chand Gandotra (District President, Jammu), with dedicated efforts of Usha Jamwal, Neeru Puri, Vasundhra, Bindiya Samyal, Karuneshwar and Deepali Handa.
