SRINAGAR, Oct 11: Hosts J&K Police emerged as the overall champions in Pencak Silat at the ongoing 10th All India Police Games Judo Cluster, securing an impressive 53 points. The event is being held under the banner of the All India Police Sports Control Board at the Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex (SKISC), Srinagar.
The J&K Police men’s contingent delivered an exceptional performance, claiming 13 medals – including 8 Gold, 4 Silver, and 1 Bronze – to lift the championship trophy.
SSB secured the second position with 47 points, followed by ITBP in third place with 26 points. In total, 20 teams participated in the Pencak Silat event, while Karnataka Police remained medal-less.
Earlier, J&K Police had also won the overall men’s title with 53 points, followed by SSB (29 points) and Assam Rifles (25 points). In the women’s category, Chandigarh Police lifted the overall trophy with 23 points, while SSB and Punjab Police claimed the second and third positions with 18 points each.
Meanwhile, Judo competitions commenced this afternoon at SKISC soon after the medal ceremonies for Karate and Pencak Silat events.
