JAMMU, Oct 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police in RS Pura area have arrested one person, who was wanted for his alleged involvement in a criminal case, registered two years back.
Showkat Hussain alias Shonku of Magar Khad Tehsil & District Kathua at present Ward number 12, Parliwand, near Government High School Kathua, was wanted in case FIR number 68/2023 registered under sections 363/376/109 IPC and 3/4/16/17 POCSO Act at Police Station RS Pura but the accused was evading his arrest in the case, a police official said.
According to him, the Fast Track Court (Rape and POCSO cases) had issued an arrest warrant against the accused under section 299 CrPC.
Based on specific intelligence, the warrant was executed today with the arrest of the accused by a team of Police Station RS Pura led by SHO concerned, Inspector RS Parihar, the police official said.
Following the arrest, he said, the accused was produced before the Fast Track Court (Rape and POCSO cases) Jammu and on the direction of the court, the accused was lodged at District Jail Amphalla.
