KISHTWAR, Oct 12: All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers Forum Kishtwar has once again urged the Director School Education Jammu for revision of school timings in Winter Zone areas of Jammu Division.
In a statement, the Forum’s Kishtwar President, Pardeep Koul has reiterated the demand for revision of school timings in view of shortening days, tough topography and falling temperature in the area.
Koul expressed surprise over unjustified school timings of 9.30 AM to 3.30 PM in the areas outside Municipal limits where timing of 10 AM –4 PM was already in operation.
Citing shortening days, tough terrain and falling temperature in the entire belt of Chenab valley including Kishtwar District, as the main factors, the Forum has urged Director School Education Jammu to reconsider existing school timings in Winter Zone areas of Jammu division in the interest of students and the teachers for an effective teaching-learning process.
The forum suggested school timing of 10 AM -4 PM in Municipal areas and 10.30 AM –3.30 PM in schools falling outside Municipal areas for a student- friendly timing.
