DODA, Oct 13: The Indian Army’s 10 Rashtriya Rifles organized Archery and Shooting competition at Sports Stadium here today, under the banner of Operation Sadbhavana.
With the theme “Let’s Rise, Aim & Reach the World Stage,” the event saw enthusiastic participation from girls across various schools in the district. Chief Guest, Sheetal Devi — India’s pride and international para-archery champion — inspired the gathering with her journey of resilience and success.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, along with officers from the Indian Army, civil and police administration, also graced the event. A tobacco-free life pledge was administered to all present, promoting health and discipline.
Sharing her journey, Sheetal Devi said, “When I tried, I won medals in archery at both national and international levels. Every child has the ability to achieve great things if they try with dedication and confidence.”
DC Doda Harvinder Singh remarked, “Sheetal Devi has made India proud. With similar dedication, our children can become future champions and role models.” An Army officer highlighted that Operation Sadbhavana is a symbol of the Army’s commitment to peace, trust, and development.
